christmas cake

Cake decorating is a big thing in my husband's family and the Christmas cake is no exception.

Minna came up with the theme for this year's cake; she made the holly and ivy leaves and Ida made the berries and then they topped it off with our Alphabet.

It was pretty much all gone by the end of Boxing Day, which is a personal best. 

And the cake itself (which the cake-decorators rather unflatteringly insisted on calling 'the base') was almost as popular as the icing. Another first in our family.
